About Himalayan Cafe
Karma Ghaley opened Himalayan Cafe in 1996, a few years after moving to Brisbane, and the restaurant has stayed put at the quieter Brunswick Street end of New Farm through decades of change in the adjoining Valley precinct.
The menu draws on Tibetan and Nepalese cooking, with goat, lamb, beef, chicken, prawn and vegetarian curries alongside Himalayan bread, lassis, buttered tea and house-made yoghurt.
