Susan, a former fashion designer originally from Singapore re-trained as pastry chef after moving to Brisbane, working in commercial bakeries before opening Nos Bakehouse & Café with her husband Gunny in Dutton Park in 2024.
The seasonal menu draws on the kitchen team’s Singaporean, Japanese and Thai backgrounds alongside classic bakery items — bread, pastries and cakes made in house.

I was a fashion designer before becoming a chef and cafe owner. I grew up in Singapore. That’s where I studied fashion. I worked in the fashion industry for about 10 years. I even worked for Ralph Lauren as a buyer.
